’Soviet cities’ (Russian edition, 2023)

Our cities have changed markedly in recent years, and the architectural heritage of the Soviet period has not been properly recognized. As a result, many modernist buildings have been destroyed, while others have become virtually
unrecognizable after reconstruction. Russian photographer Arseny Kotov has spent years traveling throughout Russia and former Soviet republics, where he photographed Soviet architecture before it was lost forever. From rainy Vladivostok to gloomy monolithic high-rise buildings in Brest, Kotov captures the atmosphere of the post-Soviet world. The USSR no longer exists, and in these photographs we see what remains - the most prominent buildings and structures, where Soviet people lived, worked and vacationed, and what Soviet cities looked like. His previous books "Abandoned Cities of the USSR" USSR", "Monumental Art" and "Soviet Monuments", published by AST Publishing, can be found on sale.
